When a team of startup entrepreneurs asked us to help with kickstarting their quadcopter almost everything was new to us: we never flew a drone, we didn’t know the quadcopter industry, and we were newbies in crowdfunding. In other words: A job we would love to do.
The prototype was just roughly assembled however it promised a payload up to 5kg, about one hour hover time, and 100km/h top speed.
Our tasks: product design, naming and visual identity, shooting a promotional video, graphic design and copywriting, responsive website, and, eventually, managing blogger/public relations.
Our strategy: We saw a chance to cut through the noise by communicating less emotional and more professional than the usual kickstarter — and opted for communicating ‘affordable high-tech’ from start.
